Teaser Pics

     It's time once again for our weekly installment of teaser pictures! This week's update is, in my opinion, something you will either love - or detest like an old grognard. At first i was the second one, but I kind of like it. See below - all pictures from either Facebook, Twitter, or RuneHQ. They actually did a ton more pictures than usual, so I picked the four that i thought were best.

     So this week is definitely the Draynor graphical update and the new PKing and Duelling hats. If you don't know what they are, I'll explain. Essentially they're special hats that change according to either how many players you've killed in the Wilderness or how many duels you've won at the Duel Arena. The more, the better. This means that I'll probably be going to the Duel Arena to try out the hats (since i can't PK worth crap). I think you PKers will enjoy this as a way to show off, so get out there and get some more kills! Keep on 'Scapin...

I'm Back + Lava Flow Mine

     Alright, sorry for my recent prolonged absence everyone. The internet around here has been shoddy for the past three weeks, and my other computer was broken for a week or so. Thankfully, my nice laptop has finally been fixed so (hurrah hurrah!) I can play RuneScape with less lag now! Anyway, I'll get back to weekly teaser pics, updates, etc.

This week's update...

     In response to what I missed, if you've been following the site and not seeing updates, I've been gone for the Capes of Distinction Update (which I will hopefully eventually release a guide for - no promises since I'm quite busy with school, exams in two weeks, etc.) and the Lava Flow Mine Update (which I will cover a bit below). Also, the player-made Dungeoneering guide competition Jagex was hosting as closed, and Rogiee has been announced as the winner! You can view his guide here.

The Lava Flow Mine.

This week's update - the Lava Flow Mine - introduces a new mining area for those of you with 68+ mining who have finished the "King of the Dwarves" quest. Along with that, a new set of armor (The Golden Mining Gear) has been released that functions similarly to the lumberjack outfit and gives a 2.5% mining experience increase throughout RuneScape. Finally, numerous clan functions have been patched and fixed. Clanners and miners, dig in (pun intended) and enjoy!

May Behind the Scenes

     May's Behind the Scenes article is out now! This month's update includes the eagerly awaited capes of distinction, some new dungeoneering-related content, and various game fixes. Here's a list of what to expect this month:

• Capes of Distinction (Veteran cape, classic cape, max cape, uber cape, cape of 10's, varrock museum cape) that display your achievements all in one item. Many of these items will have emotes.
• Dwarf Lava Flow Mine for efficient medium and high levelled mining training after completing the "King of the Dwarves" quest.
• Golden Mining Suit as a reward from working in the Dwarven Lava flow mine. The golden mining suit will be the mining equivalent of a lumberjack outfit.
• Wildstalker Helmet/Duellist's Caps that morph into different forms when you get more kills in the Wilderness or more duel arena wins. The more kills/wins, the more awesome the hat.
• Various Game Upgrades and Fixes including new decanting options and a more obvious bird's nest drop message.
• Draynor Village Graphical Update
• Rellekka Graphical Update
• "Fremmenik Sagas" - repeatable dungeoneering-related quests that will provide you with a bit more Daemonheim storyline information and some rewards. (These quests will allow you to play as Thok, a forgotten warrior, and some of the 'iconic heroes' Jagex has been planning to release)

     I think I'm most looking forward to pretty much everything this month but especially the capes and sagas. The lava flow mine should help me train mining, so that'll be good.      Although it may be May Day and the month's behind the scenes isn't officially out yet, Jagex has still released some sweet eye-candy for us to dwell on before this week's update! So here's the pictures... (all property of Jagex and found on their Facebook and Twitter pages)

     So this week's update is obviously the capes of distinction that were voted on in a recent Guaranteed Content Poll. I have to give Jagex kudos, if they can get content out 1~2 months after it's voted on, that's actually pretty fast. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, check out my post on Capes of Distinction.

     So it looks like this week I'll be going out and getting a veteran's cape and a one of those "cape of 10's". This means I need to get 60 dungeoneering so all my skills are level 60 and i can use the "cape of 60's". I've got a feeling that these will probably end up in my costume room, as I'm really running out of bank space. Pretty cool though, head out and get them! Have fun and keep on 'Scapin,
